Pink Saturday-Amish Style Quilt

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

I've always admired the Amish quilts.  I would love to take a trip someday to Lancaster PA and tour the museums there.  I have this book that I was browsing through and found a simple "Bars" quilt that I thought I'd give a try, so I eyeballed it up and decided by looking at the final measurement  I could wing it.  It looked like fairly easy piecing, and it went together in a snap I must say, love those large pieces of fabric.  I used Kaffe Fassett solids and backed it with some Joel Dewberry Modern Meadow I had left over.  The quilting is a pattern from One Song Needle Arts.  Let's just say I had no idea how long it would take me to quilt this, I used 27 bobbins on my long arm.  The time I saved on piecing was made up for in the quilting.  I could not wait to bind it and wash it before I shared it, I can't wait to see how it washes up.  I want to photograph it outside and have it hanging up too, but here's what I could gets pics of ona winter day inside.

Happy Pink Saturday, everyone, enjoy your weekend and thank you for stopping by for a visit!
Hugs, Michelle

  4. Happy Pink Saturday Michelle Sweetie...
Hope this finds you well. I have thought about you all week. I kept trying to get over and comment a hello to you. Forgive me for not making it. I am a little under the weather with a cold trying to turn into bronchitis. I am on antibiotics so hopefully it will catch it before it gets out of hand.

I love your quilt. How beautiful these colors of choice are. I love the quilting pattern. It would so wonderful to see how a machine does this. I can't even imagine. You made a beautiful garden of love with this one. I love it. Where on earth sweet friend do you stash all these beautiful quilts that you make? You will never have to worry about being cold if the electricity goes out during a winter storm now will you?

Oh thank you so much for sharing today. I have enjoyed my visit, once again. Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry
