Quilter's Fall Festival

Amy's Fall Quilt Festival, be sure to visit all the marvelous quilter's for this fun on-line show, need a little inspiration, you'll find it, want to be awed, you will be, want to find new techniques, you will, have FUN creative artist!  http://amyscreativeside.com/

I did a very simpe piecing of a one patch, but I used some of my favorite rose prints from Kaffe Fasset, Amy Butler, Heather Baily and Robin Pandolph. Then I quilted on the white solid squares in a pink thread several designs of roses form "One Song Needle" on my statler. This is for my bed, it's a queen size and I just love the way it came out, it was exactly what I wanted to showcase my favorite flower, the Rose.  I'm disappointed with the photos, the stitching looks funky in the pics, but we have had mostly rain for two weeks and I was lucky to get a sunshine day at all so that is what I was stuck with and of course the lighting was wrong time of the day, but sometimes you can only do what you can do.

I just pieced some three large pieces of fabric I had on hand for the backing.

I wanted fluffy white clouds in the sky and not bright sun, didn't get that, but I did get a couple of fall trees reflecting in the pond.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy the quilt show, hugs, Michelle

  7. What a lovely study of the rose! The quilting designs you chose are perfect for this type of a pattern. I like the way they show up so well on the light value fabric. Even the back is interesting and it truely is a reversible quilt this way.
