Burlap Shabby Chic Tote Bag

linking up today with Courtney here:  http://frenchcountrycottage.blogspot.com/

Burlap...seems to be the "in" thing right now and I found the sweetest burlap with a black print to make these quilted {yes three layers of burlap, cotton batting and backing}tote bags with.  Added some black lace, a 3-D black flower pin and a taupe seambinding ribbon to complete the look.  The handles are nice and long to go over the shoulder and this is really durable bag for all kinds of uses {yarn goes my totes}.
Of course, my daughter keeps asking me when she's ever going to get a tote from me...I may have to put one aside for Christmas for her.  Blessings, Michelle

Tote Bag Finish/Crochet Slippers-Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Pink Saturday and St. Patty's Day-Pink and Green, two of my favorite combos.  I have a different style tote today, not my usual larger one with straps, but todays is shorter and has open hole handles, quilted pattern on my long arm.  I've used the lovely Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane fabric, I love roses.  I've put some of my newest crochet project inside too, I'm working on the Japenese Flower that's going around blog land.  Elizabeth Cat has a great tutorial for the crochet flower with great photos to go along...if you have never stopped over to her blog it is a must....color and color.  http://byelizabethcat.blogspot.com/

These Mary Jane crocheted slippers are so easy and worked up so fast.  You could make a pai ron a week evening after dinner.  I found the pattern here:  http://goodknits.com/blog/mary-jane-slippers/  The tutorial is great with good photos to follow along with.
Happy Pink Saturday!  Hugs, Michelle

Kaffe Fassett-Tote Bag

I am making some tote bags up and will be listing them on my Etsy shop.  Here's the first one in a georgeous Kaffe Fassett Print.  These bags are very sturdy.  Quilted with batting and stabilizer.

These bags are great, they can be folded up just like a grocery sack to take with you.  Nice long handles to go over the shoulder too.
Cheers, Michelle

Laura Gunn Market Tote Bag and Kaffe Fassett Whole Cloth Quilt

Poppy Market Tote Bag with Laura Gunn fabric, this time in spice, this fabric is just georgeous  and I'm additcted, used a different coordinate, love it, so mod looking for the inside.  The whole cloth is with Kaffe Fassett "Bekah" fabric and shot cotton for backing and binding, love these colors.  Both items for sale in my etsy shop.  No great piecing, but I like the whole cloths that show off these large florals.

Laura Gunn Tote Bag

Love, love, love this fabric!  I saw this Laura Gunn Poppy Collection made in pillow cases on Ashley's blog, http://www.filminthefridge.com/ and I had to have some.  Then I check out Laura's blog the designer's blog, http://lauragunn.typepad.com/paintinmyhair/ .  I quilted up this tote bag with the Poppy in Aqua and a coordinate for the lining, and I love it, my daughter wants one and she usually doesn't like my stuff not hip enough for her.  I have this one on sales in my etsy shop and will be adding more totes as I can in lots of pretty fabrics I've been collecting.

Birthday Bag

Birthday bag for my sister, using JD Dogwood bloom.  This is the first time I used this pattern, one on my long arm, the hardest part was tacking down around those round handles.  She loved it, so that's what was important.

Felted Bags

I also love to knit and these are a couple of bags that I knit and then felted. I use the yellow one in the fall and wear on weekends with jeans and the clutch can go dress up or down, used a black wool and a charm strand, both very easy to make.
