Orange Cosmos-Outdoor Wenesday

Please visit Susan our wonderful hostess of this even and see her great thunderstorm shots this week, and also the other participants of OW.
Can you say orange. Orange Cosmos that is. I collected these seeds from plants two years ago and threw them in the ground this year and they, well, produced very well. I probably should have thinned them out, and placed some all around, but I was too lazy. Happy Outdoor Wednesday, thanks for stopping by.

Outdoor Wednesday-Garden Walk

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan of A Southern Daydreamer. Beautiful outdoor photos can be found, when you stop by Susan’s, each Wednesday. Below is my contribution to Outdoor Wednesday this week.http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/

I went on a Garden Walk on Sunday and toured about six houses, this one I'm blogging about is just one home, and it happens to be my bosses, she's an amazing gardener. The home is situated on an extra wide triple lot. The home is reminicent of the English Cottage style, with character, charm, and romance. Her and her husband have just moved in only 18 months ago and she has completely revamped the whole landscape that had been let go. The gardens were amazing, stunning, georgeous, fantastic and inspiring. They dug out old yews, removed huge pine trees and put in an incredible rock garden feature in the front of the home on a small hill...quite an ingenius way to use the land...it's all about vision. The variety of perenials is breathtaking mixed with annuals gives just the right color splash. The property is surrounded on each side and along the back with a stone wall "to die for", the stone was quarried when the house was built. There is an inground pool on the grounds but I missed getting photos of that, a really cute potting shed and porch boxes surround the front and side, a couple of arbor gates and just the right touch of adornmentation without being tacky. Take notice of the "conversation pieces", man and woman planter heads and I love the little cherubs "sharing a secret" and are a few others here and there. I manipulated a few photos in photoshop, the "heads" to give them a real old feel of texture, the full house shot to give a drawing effect, the flowers for a monet look, the cherubs for an artsy look and another one of the house. Come back on "Pink Saturday" this week and see a few more shots with all the pinks in them that I'm saving for that. I hope you enjoyed this little tour. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunsets & Rainbows-Outdoor Wednesday

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan of A Southern Daydreamer. Beautiful outdoor photos can be found, when you stop by Susan’s, each Wednesday. Below is my contribution to Outdoor Wednesday this week.http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/

I am blessed with seeing beautiful sunsets in my back yard, my house faces west of course, and the reflections in the pond are a bonus. Then in the front of the house we always see rainbows when it rains and shines...the 2nd pic is the first time I had ever seen a double rainbow...God is such an incredible artist, I love seeing the beauty he provides for us outdoors.

Outdoor Wednesday

I went a little crazy this year and I bought 9 hanging baskets that I have all around down by the dock, by the pool around the gazebo and out front, so I am watering, watering, and watering, besides the flower beds, but oh they are so worth it. My son in white shirt and his friend are fishing off the paddle boat. I thought I'd take a photo with the "green" 9 patch (cut and rearranged) quilt outside with all the GREEN. Happy Outdoor Wednesday, blogging friends. Thanks for stopping by.

Iris, Bearded & Siberian-Outdoor Wednesday-June 17th

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan of A Southern Daydreamer. Beautiful outdoor photos can be found, when you stop by Susan’s, each Wednesday. Below is my contribution to Outdoor Wednesday this week.

The purple and white bearded iris are from my father and mother's garden and the siberian iris are from my grandmother's garden so they are all very special to me, if I ever move, I'm taking them with me. This is my first mosaic...don't seem to quite have the total hang of it yet, I can't seem to get the photos placed exactly where I want them...but after one and a half hours I did seem to be able to get this far...I didn't see any tutorial or instructions so I did trial and error, which was a tad bit frustrating I do say....is it just me...did I miss something.
