Texture Tuesdays-Embrace

http://www.kimklassencafe.com/thecafe/farewell-12-days-of-textures.html
Linking up with Kim today, stop over and take a peek at all the inspiration.  Today's theme was to use the texture "Embrace".
One of my favorite violet teacups and some great reading.

Just did some redecorating in my bedroom, this had about 20 books and 15 magazines piled on top, so I moved them and replaced with my 5 generation grandmother's flower garden quilt and a pair of wings that I used to use as a photo prop and a beautiful crocheted trim hanki with a cross in it.  Cheap decorating...just move things around that you already have for a fresh new look.

I love roses and pink are my favorite, just painted this chair white this summer and picked up this little reproduction bottle.
Happy tuesday, Hugs Michelle

Praise God-New Book

Another book I'm reading..."Expecting to see Jesus" by Anne Graham Lotz, , A WAKE-UP call for God's People
Oh my goodness, another one I couldn't put down, 20 pages left to go in this one and it is amazing, really!  End times, personal revival.  A must read.  I have to share this one scripture I underlined, although I won't go through what Anne writes about it, but of course it was one of those times I read something and at the same time the Lord put in front of me something that related....no less at work, below this link came for a you-tube video and it is really something to think about....all I can say is I think we better WAKE UP

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14)

Praise God-You tell on Yourself

"the older women [are to] be reverent in behavior"
Titus 2:3
? am I, over 5 decades now, I guess I now started considering myself an "older woman"....

You Tell on Yourself

You tell on yourse;f by the friend syou seek,
By the very manner in which you speak,
By the way you employ your leisure time,
By the use you make of dollar and dime.

You tell what you are by the things you wear,
By the spirit in which you burdens bear,
By the kind of things at which you laugh,
By the records you play on the phonograph.

You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk,
By the manner in which you bear defeat,
By so simple a thing as how you eat.

By the books you choose from well-filled shelf:
In these ways and more, you tell on yourself.

New Kaffe Fassett Book and other good reads

I really spoiled myself this last month with a few purchases books and magazines. The first one pictured is Kaffe's newest book "Quilt Romance'....I can't decide which quilt I want to make...I've been waiting for this book and it did not disappoint, I LOVE color. The next find on the magazine rack is Mary Janes Farm, I haven't read yet but there is an article on "barn Quilts" (painted) and another on repairing old quilts. Then I picked up my "must have" I have been collecting for several years now, every time they come out the Quilt Sampler, I read this one cover to cover and devour it. Of course, before you know it the holidays will be right here and I saw the Quilting Arts Gifts magazine and I am inspired for some Xmas gifts...I better get started, you know how time disappears. Joann's was having a sale 30% off so I picked up two books Strips n Curves StrataVarious Quilts, they both caught my eye and I though they look like a good way to use up some scraps with strip piecing. The only good thing about the bad weather coming is to be inside sewing and quilting.

Debbie Macomber-hits another great one

"Knit Together"...I loved, loved this book. I'm planning on re-reading it...I read it the minute the hardcover hit the store...now after some time has elapsed I think I want to read it again...I don't say that about too many books. This is a keeper in my library and one I loan out and recommend highly.

Blossom Street Series Books

I've read 3 of the Blossom Street series books by Debbie Macomber, my mother read two of them {and was waiting to have read the 3rd if it had been written before she went HOME} and my daughter read one of them, so we have a 3 generation age range who enjoyed these from teenager to 40 somthing to 70 something. If you love to knit or even if you don't, you will really like Debbie's writing style.

Christmas Gift

My sister gave me this Christmas gift, a book I was wanting. One year one of the quilt guilds I belong to showed a DVD on these ladies and I was very intrigued. Check out the web site and be amazed. http://www.quiltsofgeesbend.com/
