Who or what are you Pursuing?

Just finished reading "The Pursuit of GOD" by A.W. Tozer..........amazing, good read, YOU MUST READ IT, (The impulse to pursue God originates with God, but the outworking of that impulse is our following hard after Him. All the time we are pursuing Him we are already in His hand: "Thy right hand upholdeth me.")

I hope you all have a great "Lord's Day" today.

Pink Saturday-May 30th 2009

It’s time for Pink Saturday, hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Be sure to visit Beverly's blog to see a complete list of all the participants in today's Pink Saturday. (clicking on picture will open a link to her site in a new window) Happy birthday to one year of Pink Saturdays, congratulations, Beverly.

This is my first to join in Pink Saturday, one of my favorite colors, BTW. Below are three cards I created using some of my rubber stamp collection. I find it really relaxing to just get lost and away from everything and create cards, its really a great outlet for me and to have a quick finished project is very gratifying.

Sweet Dreams

I decided last night that I needed a little lift...so I made a couple of pillow cases...love them, so quick and easy and I feel spoiled sinking down into something so beautiful (the green are for me), then I thought my precious daughter needed some for her georgeous face to rest upon, hence pink ones too. I slept very well, and her she hardly needs beauty sleep but it must work for youth!

Outdoor Wednesday #20

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan of A Southern Daydreamer. Beautiful outdoor photos can be found, when you stop by Susan’s, each Wednesday. Below is my contribution to Outdoor Wednesday this week.

We have a pond in our backyard with the new birth of gosslings, along with chirping crickets and croaking chorus of bull frogs...which I love to listen to. One of my garden islands with daffadils and up front a weeping cherry tree...look colors and textures abound.

Hearts & Butterflys

I am having such a good time using my accuquilt. It cuts layers of fabric with precision. I just listed these heart and butterfly bundles (50) on my etsy site. I see a charm quilt in my future with some of these. I also have a smaller butterfly that I have not cut yet that I think will be cute to use with the large one. I just love scrappy quilts, so I think this is going to be fun, fun, fun! On my way to go buy some heat and bond.

Teaposy

My sweet cousin Lisa gave this really cute gift...it is so creative, I just had to share with all my creative blog friends. It is call a Teaposy. A blooming tea. Premium white tea leaves, natural herbal flowers. Basically it starts out as this little tight ball (silver needle tea) and you add rolling boiling water from your teapot to heat resistance glassware and steep for about 3-6 minutes and watch your ball magically turn into a blossom...there are six different blossoms in the box I received each a different flavor, this one was Lady Fairy-Jasmine (nip tension and high cholesteral in the bud) and Lily (clear the airways and calm your butterflies), and the taste to the palette was very nice. (all natural) You can further enjoy your posy after you've had your tea and add cold water and enjoy for a few days longer. http://www.teaposy.com/

Scrolls and Paisely's

This is one of my sister-in-law Caren's quilts, she loves the reproduction fabrics. I used one of Anne Brights designs to quilt it in a tan colored thread and it came out really nice the backing is just beautiful fabric, takes you back in time if you sit there and let it.

Lady Tags

I just picked up my special order of B-line stamps and am having so much fun creating tags, I stamp a scripture verse on the back of each one some I keep and some I give away and hope they minister to someone and glorify HIM!

Felted Bags

I also love to knit and these are a couple of bags that I knit and then felted. I use the yellow one in the fall and wear on weekends with jeans and the clutch can go dress up or down, used a black wool and a charm strand, both very easy to make.

A Face, a Fisherman and a Doll

Title Sounds like it could be a good story. The Face card was made for my friend's daughter for mother's day, who just had twin boys, the fisherman was a for a good friend of the family who passed away, and the girl with the doll is a card for my cousin's daughter who just had her first communion and I'm giving the doll quilt to in below post.

One Block Wonder

One of my clients brought this beautiful One Block Wonder Quilt. I think this is a really neat pattern and I hope to try one of my own someday. I quilted in a gold thread, a Fan and Floral Pantograph from Kim Diamond Designs, which went real well with the oriental feel of the quilt, the quilting doesn't show up much on the front, which was the goal to blend, but take a look at the back, it pops with a cream and speckled gold background.

Doll Quilt

My cousin's daughter had her first communion a week ago and so I thought it would make a nice gift to make a doll quilt for her American Girl dolls, I asked and she still plays with them. Besides I wanted to try out my new half/square triangle template for my accuquilt, which by the way, cut beautiful perfect little knotched half sq. triangles, so when you lay the fabric one side down, one side right side up, all you do is pick up in pairs and chain stitch...so quickly and iron and perfect, amazing. I had some fun using up some scraps and a wild striped backing and binding, complete the quick little project with some double hearts quilted. I hope this is just loved on a lot, I photographed it using my daughter's Magic Attic doll, I found in her room. I think I could get into these little quilts, what a nice feeling to have something done, so quickly.

Happy Mother's Day

This is one of the "fun" pictures I have of my mother on far left, my sister next to her, my daugther and myself on the right (one sister absent). July 4th 2006. My mother went home to be with our heavenly Father November 15, 2006. I miss her tremendously and am so thankful of God's promise to reunite us with our loved ones, praise God, I can't wait til those tears are wiped away.
My daughter New Years eve 2008.

My birthday 2009. My son and me.
