Doll Quilt Swap #8-I'm finished

Doll Quilt #8 Swap, I've finished my doll quilt for the swap, I'm hoping she loves it.  I used fabric designed by Denyse Schmidt from the Hope Valley collection.  I made a dresdan plate "flower" that I raw edge appliqued on,stem and cat are also raw edge applique.  Details include some buttons for flower center and a little cat face with black floss.  I used an Anne bright design for the quilting, peacock feather texture.  I used my accuquilt cutter to cut all applique piences.  I really had fun making this one up

The Meaning of the Snowman

The Meaning of the Snowman
The white snow stands for the purity of the souls filled with God's grace.  The circular snowballs represent God's everlasting love.  The pieces of coal used to make the eyes, mouth and buttons symbolize God's Almighty power.  The carrot nose reminds us that God gives us everything we need to live and grow.  The scarf suggests the warmth of God's tender care.  The top hat reminds us always to keep faith our top priority.  The arms are outstretched to us as God's always are.  The broom made of straw and wood signifies that Jesus was born and died to cleanse us of sin.  May your heart be ever warmed by the good news of God's great love for you!

Above are two rubberstamped cards I made, I so enjoy sitting down and creating, weather it is quilting, stamping, knitting.  I can get lost for hours doing these activities.

Fabric Friday #8-January 15th, 2010

Welcome to the "Fabric Friday"! I've seen some of the other fun events and participated in them and thought it would be great to start Fabric Friday. On Fabric Friday, show any handmade item {quilts, tote bag, wallhanging, clothing, etc.}, or show us your fabric stash, or recent fabric purchase, or show how you decorate with fabric or fabric items.

If you are participating in Fabric Friday, please be sure to add your permalink below {right click your post title-copy it and paste it into the UrL address}, and not your general blog address.
Don't forget to copy and paste the Fabric Friday logo button to your computer so you can add it to your side bar and your Fabric Friday post. That way visitors will know that your are participating in Fabric Friday.
Please be sure to link back to the host blog, http://rosebudquilting.blogspot.com/, so your fellow bloggers who are participating today, will get lots of visits, as well.

Please do not add your link below until your Fabric Friday post is actually published to your blog. Since this is the first Fabric Friday, I published early to try to make sure all is working.

I hope you will join in the fun, I love seeing what everyone else is doing with their fabric, even if it is just admiring it.

Doll Quilts are soooooo much fun, I am having and I get to practice new quilt patterns to see if I like the way they stitch out or not and use up scraps and get a quick finish, win-win-win.  I used a lot of Kaffe Fassett scraps in this one. with a little chinese coins.  I am sorry for anyone I did not visit last week all of a sudden it got away from me, I will definitely be around this weekend to all, I get an extra day off for holiday, plus I took my birthday off, on Tuesday, so anyone who would like to enter my birthday give away if you have not already is just below this post.  :)

Doll Quilt-Strip Pieced

I have tons and tons of scraps, so I thought I tried using some up, this was so much fun I just started taking from the bin not paying any attention...but, wow...not so much as a dent into the stash of scraps...looks like I'll be makiing a larged quilt with strips next time around. I used a butterfly panto to quilt, tied in with the fabric border of butterflys.

Antique/Vintage Fabric

These are some close-up shots of an antique quilt I had quilted ...the top I had purchased on e-bay, sold this one, but took tons of photos before I let it go.  I love the fabrics that were in this, lots of feedsack.  Really hated to see this one go.
