Quilts from the show

....and still more quilts from the show.  Today's text for the quilts are on Prayer fromt he book "Opening the Gates of Heaven" by Perry Stone
Search yourself before you pray.  Pray a purity prayer as you begin, asking God to forgive you of any offenses and to enable you to keep the channel of  blessing open in your life.
Search the Scriptures.  Find a promise in God's Word that speaks to the specific needy ou are presenting to God.  Lock into that promise with your faith, reminding God not only of His promise butal so of the convenant He has established with you.
Search the will of God.  It does little good to pray for something that is otside of the will of God.  Remember God's Word that says:  "Ye ask, and receive not not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts" {James 4:3, KJV}
Search your own spirit.  Pray in the Spirit when you do not know what to pray for inour own heart.  What are God's issues related to your request?  how does He feel about this situation?
Be specific.  I cannot overemphasize the importance of this key.  When you are praying for your child, say, "Father, here is {name}.  This is my child, who is {age} years of age.  He needs {state specific need}."
Be sincere.  Have apure motive for your prayer.  Do not come before God with a proud, boastful, or arrogant spirit.
Be energetic.  "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16).  Pray with energy and fire.  Pray with the anointing of God.
Be steadfast.  Pray without ceasing.  Pray when you are driving to work, walking in the neighborhood, or taking a shower.  Pray continually.  Pray without wavering.
Bow your knees in prayer.    "For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Eph. 3:14)
Include the LORD's Prayer.
Our Father which art is heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For think is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen.  --Matthew 6:9-13, KJV
This prayer begins by honoring God's name and predicting the coming kingdom.  It asks for God's willl to be released on earth.  There is a request for provision, forgiveness, and freedome from the evil one.  It concludes by honoring the kingdom of God and recognizing God's power and glory in thekingdom.
Prayer Requires Quality Time.  Usuallly one hour..."Could you not watch with Me one hour?" (Matthew 26:40)
Pray for as long as the burden stays.
Pray without ceasing.
Don't be infludenced by surroundings.
Pray for your family's protection daily.
Learn to discern spirtual suddenlies.  It begins as a weight in your spirit, and as the day progresses, the pressure intensifies.  "nudges".
Pray in the Spirit.  The purpose of the prayer language in to enable aperson's inner spirt to speak to God, to help the believer to build up his faith, and pray the will of God when he is uncertain of what His will is.
Conclude with praise.  Hallelujah {praise the Lord}, Glory to the name of the Lord.
God answers prayers for His Glory.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.--1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Blessings to you, Praise God, Michelle
