Christmas-stamping, decorating, baking

Merry Christmas, here's what I've been doing that's partly kept me from blogging.  Just a quick post with photos, not much text on my way to Xmas eve chruch service.  Wishing you all a wonderful  Christmas.  (He came to seek and save the lost, amen!)

Merry, Merry Christmas....I'm counting my blessings, the greatest gift of all John 3:16, thank you Father!

A beautiful fall day at the park, I only had a few minutes to snap some pics, but how can you go wrong with such scenery.

I find great comfort in these words, my friends {especially after listening to current world new events}. Praise God, for his loving kindness.  Blessings to you and be a blessing, Michelle

Crochet-Granny Squares Afghan

Granny Squares crocheted afghan.  Finished this up a few weeks ago and went to the park for some nice fall outdoor photo shoot with blanket in hand {in the bright sunlight of the cold day}.  A multi-colored blanket, using wool yarn 4-ply worsted weight and a hook size F.  I added the same color border to each block red, then I also crocheted them together with red.  I think it makes it look almost like quilt blocks that way.  The I did the three color border which I think just really finishes the project off nicely.  This is a nice rectangle to use as a blanket to cuddle with.

I know, lots of photos, but after you've hooked this many stitches...it felt justified.  I think the slide worked nice for a prop, the ground was a little wet.  Lots of hours in this, time to think and dream and a usefulness with my hands.  I thank God for giving me so many hobbies that I enjoy and that are useful too.
Blessings, Michelle

Texture Tuesday-Dream

DREAM---Linking up with Kim today for Texture Tuesdays.  The theme Kim asked us to use today is "dream".    I used the texture "kristen" on both of the photos.   Hope to get back into the swing of posting, moved two weeks ago and still unpacking.
http://www.kimklassencafe.com/thecafe/
I picked this fall photo of the slide because it reminded me of when I was a child and all the dreams you dream when you don't think about all the reasons why they can't or won't happen when you start the negative thinking that we sometimes are prone to.    I used luminosity on the Kristen texture.

I chose this photo of the last flower arrangement I made for the season, two dreams in one.  Dremaing of a cut flower business in my future and also the scripture is inspired by John's dream recorded in the book of Revelation.  Thank you for stopping by today, wishing you a week of blessings.  Michelle

God Delights In You

Apple Carmel Ice Cream Sunday...delightful!
God Delights In You
If God had a refridgerator, your picture would be on it.  If He had a wallet, your photos would be in it.  He sends yo flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.  --Max Lucado

You're the apple of His eye and the delight of His heart.

He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail - even numbering the hairs on your head!  Matthew 10:30  The message

I did manage to get a few apple pie fillings frozen and a apple pie made and some applesauce frozen also, before the move, took a break from packing.  I'm sure I will be glad I did during the next few months.

If I'd had more time and engery I would have canned some applesauce, something for next year to add to the pantry will be canned applesusce...there's only so much freezer room.

All this and no photos of the whole apples...isn't that funny.  At this point I'm lucky I even photographed this at the time.  Tomorrow will be two weeks I'm in the "new to us" house that we moved into.  I was in my last house for 23 years and I can't beleive how much work it's been, but I'm so happy to be here, a new beginning.   Praise God for blessing after blessing, his love endures forever more!      --Michelle

Bloggers Quilt Festival-Fall 2012

Linking up with Amy's Creative Blogger's Quilt Festival, thanks Amy for another opportunity to visit so many beautiful quilts.  I really haven't had much time for months to work on quilting, except for simple designs.  I just moved on Monday (whew), just got cable/intranet service this afternoon.  This quilt is an attempt at some modern piecing, just using one focus fabric, a favorite vintage Santa print and your basic kona white.
I used an overall pantograph quilting desing of santa face and snowflakes and quilted in white thread and used a solid red kona backing and red binding machine stitched down, this ended up to be a twin size.  I really like the quilting design, it quilted up so nice.
This is what it looked like on the machine.
At first I thought I didn't want to show a Christmas Quilt, but then when I went to get my Halloween candy last night it had all been moved to the sale area and the candy canes boxes were all lined up.  So hopefully no one minds seeing Christmas now, I think it's still early but it will be here before we know it.  Thank you for stopping by and taking a "peek".
Hugs, Michelle

You Make a Difference-Bikes in Bloom

....one of those from DaySpring {words, photos my own}

You Make a Difference

God is using you for His special purpose.
To Shine His light.
To Share His love.
To Shape His people.

You are making a difference in ways you don't even realize.  And you're very much appreciated.

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all time, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8

Bikes in bloom from the summer, part of a garden show each year.

Wasn't this a fun little tour, a different kind of garden walk.  Next year, I will have a bike in the garden!
Blessings, Praise God, Michelle
