Kaffe Fassett-Tote Bag

I am making some tote bags up and will be listing them on my Etsy shop.  Here's the first one in a georgeous Kaffe Fassett Print.  These bags are very sturdy.  Quilted with batting and stabilizer.

These bags are great, they can be folded up just like a grocery sack to take with you.  Nice long handles to go over the shoulder too.
Cheers, Michelle

Who is God?

From the Book "Where there is Love there is God", Mother Teresa
Who Is God?
God is.
God is Love.
God is everywhere.
God is the Author of life.
God is a loving Father.
God is a merciful Father.
God is all powerful and He can take care of us.
God is love and God loves you and loves me.
God is joy.
God is purity Himself.
God is with us.
Gos is in love with us.
Gos is in your heart.
God is faithful.
God is love, Gos is joy, God is light, God is truth.
God is thoughtful.
God is so good to us.
God is so generous.
God is so preoccupied with you.
God is a faithful lover.
God is so wonderful.

The child I reach
The lonely I console
The unwanted Iwant
The mentally ill I befriend
Jesus is--The helpless--I help
The beggar--I welcome
The leper--I wash
The drunkard--I guide
The Bread of Life--I eat
The Sacrifice--I offer
The Cross--I carry
The pain-I bear
The prayer--I pray
The loneliness---I share
The sickness--I accept

Doll quilt-Art Quilt-Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Weekly Challenge-visit someone you have not met yet.  This week I visited Anna from Frosted Petunias, you must stop over and see her, her art work is very creative and very pretty, her blog just makes you want to smile its so happy and colorful.  http://frostedpetunias.blogspot.com/2011/02/cirque-dans-le-nuage.html

Doll quilt/art quilt, have you ever had that wonderful feeling that something came out just how you intended it to from idea to the actual piece, I have to say for this little quilt that is what happened for me.  I had this beautiful piece of Kaffe Fassett fabric, the center piece with the vase of flowers, {love this group, came in several color ways} and I thought it reminded me of a painting, so I didn't want to cut it up, I thought I would just "frame it", so I found the sweet polka dot and the silhouette fabrics to coordinate and just added the borders.  I backed it with a solid pink kona and tried a panto quilt design I hadn't used yet and it quilted it with a light pink thread .  I had crocheted this border trim in cotton and was going to use on a pillow case, but I decided I'd try it on this and I really like it, even if I did have to fudge it to make it work.

Have a great weekend, happy pink saturday.  Blessings, Michelle

Crocheted Vintage Hotpads

Delicate antique crocheted beauties.  My Mom collected these with my her sister.  The thread is so fine that they used, today most of us are using a thick cotton to make hot pads with, but these have such a wonderful feel to them.  I'm trying to decide how I want to display them, I don't have much wall space in my kitchen at all.

I think I will save the rest for another day, as they have "pink" in them.  These were definitely made by ladies who had more leisure time, they must have taken hours and hours, I know crochet is fast but with these fine threads, it still must have taken a lot of time... hope you enjoyed viewing these, I have such an appreciation for the work and love that was put in these...you can't help but wonder about the ladies who made these, what was their stories.

Mother Teresa Prayer

Dear Jesus,
Help me to spread Your fragrance everywhere I go.
Flood my soul with your Spirit and Life.
Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that my life may only be a radiance of Yours.
Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Your presence in my soul.
Let them look up, and see no longer me, but only Jesus!
Stay with me and then I will begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as a to be a light to others.
The light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be mine.  It will be You, shining on others through me.
Let me thus priase You in the way You love best, by shining on those around me.  Let me preach You without preaching, not by words but by example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears for You.  Amen.

Blessings,
Michelle, Looking up!

Love-AB-quilt finish/KF Jelly Roll-Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

This quilt was made for my daughter for her 22nd birthday Feb. 6th.
It is one of KF designs column quilt which I've done several of, but I like them for a couple of reasons, one they are fast to piece and two they show off a large chunk of fabric to enjoy.

This is my faviorite quilt, love pink and roses are a favorite.
Look at this sweet soft pink/blue print, love it!

The backing is a beautiful paisley print and binding an awesome polka dot.
Now look at some of the pinks in these Kaffe Fassett Jelly Roll, aren't they stunning!

 Happy Pink Saturday, Blessings, Michelle

Knitted Dishcloth finishes and Spa cloth

Cotton knitted dishcloth, finishes, two, spa cloth one.  My daughter was in the hospital for six days last week and I took some yarn and needles, there was lots of down time.  {she is on the road to recovery}.

I like how the sunlight was coming in the window and leaving shadows on this.
I just made the pattern up, knitted a few rows at the beginning and end, did a repeat of multiple seed stitch rows and stockinette rows.
I love these colors...they are definitely me.
This next white one is a spa cloth, with a cable detail.

The pattern for this can be found here:  http://andrea-needlenotes.blogspot.com/2010/02/cable-spadishcloth.html
I love the way these cotton cloths feel, they are great to use.
Blessings, Michelle

Happy Pink Saturday's Valentine's Day Post

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Happy Pink Saturday Valentine's Day post.  Hearts are everywhere and there are certainly here today!  I have this beautiful "Pink" lap size quilt to show you.
Fabulous Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane Fabric line was unsed for the floral and talented designer Kaffe Fassett shot cotton pink fabric used to show off the delightful whimsical heart quilting design by Anne Bright.
This quilt can easily be used as a reversible quilt either side , flip it over to work either way.

I Love You!  What better way to say it than with quilted hearts to cozy up with.

The quilt measures 42 x 52", a perfect size to cuddle with not too big and bulky, just right.

I have this quilt listed in my Etsy shop for anyone who wants to heart their Valentine!

Happy Pink Saturday, Happy Valentine's day!  Hugs, Michelle
